Front & rear projection screens

Tally Group projection screens may be permanently installed, semi-permanent or mobile. Mobile screens are ideal for non-dedicated viewing spaces such as conference rooms, hotel rooms and for visits to your clients’ offices and we can advise you on the best screen for your needs.

With LCD projectors, the best image quality is found using a blank surface that is white, grey, or black (which blocks reflected ambient light). For this reason, dedicated projection screens are often used. Since white is a more neutral colour, white surfaces provide the most natural colour tones, which is why, here at Tally Group, we recommend white projection surfaces for most business and school presentations.

Some presenters and presentation space planners, however, prefer gray screens, which create a higher perceived contrast than white screens. The trade-off is that darker backgrounds can throw off colour tones. Though colour problems can be adjusted through the projector settings, the final colours shown may not be as accurate as they would on a white background. Our technicians and planners are always ready to advise you on the best solution for your particular presentation needs.

To avoid any discoloration to the image, we recommend uniformly white or grey screens.

The most desired brightness of a screen depends on a number of variables, such as the ambient light level and the luminous power of the source of the image (the projector). At Tally Group, we have the expertise to match the best screen to the projector you have chosen.

We can also supply flat or curved screens and your choice will depend on the optics used to project the image and the desired geometrical accuracy of the image production. Flat screens are the most common – again we can provide free advice to enable you to make the best choice.

Screens can be designed for front or back projection. Front projection systems have the image source situated on the same side of the screen as the audience, ie, they work by reflecting the light projected onto them, and are most common. Back projection screens work by diffusely transmitting the light through them. You can rest assured that Tally Group will recommend the most suitable screen for your needs.

Indeed, whether you are using a digital projector, a movie projector, an overhead projector or a slide projector, we can supply the best screen for your presentation.
